GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy Tops List of Conservative Leaders Endorsing
Thousand Oaks, CA – The campaign of federal prosecutor Matt Jacobs today released its first round of high-profile endorsements showing Matt Jacobs with the clear momentum and support to win California’s 26th Congressional District.
House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy’s endorsement, along with many members of the California Congressional Delegation, proves Jacobs has the broad support needed to raise money and build a winning coalition.
“Matt Jacobs is a proven public servant. As a federal prosecutor, Matt investigated and prosecuted America’s enemies. He won high-profile cases against terrorists and opioid traffickers, upholding the rule of law and protecting our neighborhoods and communities. We need proven public servants in Congress, and that’s why I’m proud to join many Members of our Congressional Delegation and endorse Matt Jacobs for Congress,” said Leader McCarthy. “Matt will help us Take Back the House, Fire Pelosi and end the Democrats’ One Party Rule of our federal government.”
“Single-party rule has been disastrous for California – and the far left is now taking our country down a similar path. I’ll stand up to their extreme agenda, pursue commonsense solutions to the many problems we face, and fight to make sure that everyone has the freedom and opportunity to make their American Dream a reality,” said Jacobs. “I thank Leader McCarthy for his support and endorsement and I look forward to helping make him Speaker McCarthy in 2023 when we take back the House.”
Matt Jacobs’ endorsement announcement comes on the heels of a record-breaking fundraising year, in which the campaign raised $850,000 from over 1,500 individual donors, with more than $650,000 cash on hand. Jacobs has raised more money at this point in the cycle than any challenger ever in the 26th Congressional District.
Jacobs also noted how extremely proud he is to roll out a list of influential local leaders alongside national ones such as Leader McCarthy. Of note, the Ventura County Deputy Sheriffs’ Association and the Ventura County Professional Peace Officers’ Association have both endorsed Matt Jacobs for Congress.
“Our grassroots network is incredibly strong here in the 26th, and I’m thrilled to have an organized and energized local base of supporters – including many members of our law enforcement community – who are willing to put their names on the line for us,” Jacobs said.
