THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Matt Jacobs, former Federal Prosecutor and Republican candidate for California’s 26th Congressional District, raised over $320,000 in the first quarter of 2022 – outraising incumbent Democrat Congresswoman Julia Brownley by $87,000 in gross receipts, according to recently released campaign finance reports. In terms of individual contributions, Jacobs outraised Brownley by more than $180,000.
The release of Jacobs’ large Q1 2022 financial haul comes on the heels of significant momentum for the Jacobs campaign in the form of polling and national recognition.
Jacobs’ Campaign Momentum:
- The Race is Tied on Generic Ballot: public polling indicates Republicans are virtually tied on the generic ballot in the 26th Congressional District.
- The NRCC is Targeting CA-26: the National Republican Congressional Committee has added California’s 26th Congressional District to its list of targeted seats.
- Matt Jacobs has been endorsed by numerous law enforcement organizations, and has been recognized nationally as a top Republican pickup opportunity as part of the NRCC’s Young Guns program.
